Discover how to increase the quality of your decisions, and those of your team, with particular emphasis on the importance of critical thinking skills to mitigate the effect of our own cognitive biases, as well as an emphasis on making decisions with little or ambiguous information and deep uncertainty. This seminar will help you leverage your team’s immense untapped wisdom to get better results.

Kathy Pearson, PhD is a strategist, Systems Thinking expert, and authority in decision making. She is President and Founder of ELS, a firm focused on executive development and learning across industries. Kathy is also a Senior Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics and has served as an adjunct Associate Professor in the Operations and Information Management Department at The Wharton School, both at the University of Pennsylvania. In this academic capacity Kathy taught operations management courses in the MBA program and Executive Master’s of Technology Management programs as well as Probability and Statistics, Simulation Modeling, and other courses for the department and the University.

An award-winning educator, Kathy works extensively with mid- to senior level executives, where she teaches on a variety of topics including Executive Decision Making, Strategic Agility, Change Managing and Execution. Kathy specifically likes to focus on application of the concepts covered in her content.

Kathy’s work with executives spans a wide variety of industries and geographies, including health care and life sciences, financial services, professional services, technology, consumer products, energy and manufacturing. Her client list includes organizations as diverse as Cardinal Health, Children’s Miracle Network, Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, Coca-Cola, Comcast, The Estee Lauder Companies, GlaxoSmithKline, India Ministry of Finance, McKesson, Merck, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Royal Bank of Scotland, Royal DSM, Schneider Electric, Siam Commercial Bank, UnitedHealthGroup, Westpac Bank Australia, and the World Bank.

In addition to her executive development work, Kathy’s industrial and consulting experience includes advising senior leadership teams in the areas of strategic formulation, leading under uncertainty, and bridging the gap between strategy and execution. She recently served on the Board of Summer Search Philadelphia, a non-profit organization that works with disadvantaged youth to prepare them for college and beyond.

Kathy received her BS degree in theoretical mathematics from Auburn University, her M.S. degree in Decision Sciences from Georgia State University, and her PhD in industrial engineering (concentration in statistics) from Northwestern University.
